The Renewable Energy Technical Incubator (RETI) at KFUPM facilitates research, development, and innovation (RDI) projects in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and industry 4.0 (IR 4.0) applications in the energy sector.
Objectives
The objectives of the grant are to:
- Building human capital in the field of renewable energy and relevant sectors
- Enriching the grantees' skills to prepare them as per the need of the Kingdom
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the RETI, an undergraduate student must satisfy the following conditions:
- Full-time (active) undergraduate student with good academic standing – any major
- Topics should be related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and industry 4.0 applications in the energy sector
Application
Applicants should submit the following documents to the Undergraduate Research Office (URO):
- Filled proposal prescribed by the RETI
- Detailed CV and Copy of KFUPM ID
- A recent copy of the transcript

Budget and Facility
- Up to 20,000 SAR, including student compensation, equipment, and materials
- Access to KFUPM resources
Duration and venue
- Winning grantees will conduct their research under the supervision of KFUPM faculty members/researchers for four months (Fall 241).
- A two months extension may be granted based on the decision made by the relevant committee.
Assessment Criteria
- Monthly/Bi-monthly progress reports/presentations
- A final report in a manuscript format
- Participation in KFUPM Student Forum
Incentives for Students
- 1000 SAR monthly stipend
- Certificate of grant completion
- Included in the student’s non-academic transcript
- Priority in conference participation
